The White Guard (Russian Civil War) Series: The tale of the fallen (The last attack)

The tale of the fallen
(The last attack)

I rushed into the final attack,
But this time fate turned against the veteran,
And besides that, the missile that fell
By hillside was too much to withstand.
And besides that, the missile that fell
By hillside was too much to withstand.
Familiar smell of the smoke filled the air,
And the heat – it my final tears dried,
And besides, I was blessed to die there,
Those who lived spent their lives in confinement.
And besides, I was blessed to die there,
Those who lived spent their lives in confinement.
And besides that – the quiet, the rest!
I cannot hear the dialog of the guns.
Only medals crawl onto my chest
With the tiny feet of lady-bugs…
Only medals crawl onto my chest
With the tiny feet of lady-bugs…

Only medals crawl onto my chest
With the tiny feet of lady-bugs…
